Located 32 million light years away in Pisces, M 74 is a large grand design spiral galaxy seen face on. The galaxy features prominent spiral arms that are well defined. There are numerous star forming regions easily discerned. The core is tight with multiple dust lanes and is well resolved.
Imaging M74 from Chile is somewhat challenging as it is quite low on the horizon.
Imaged in LRGB on our Planewave CDK 700 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
