NGC 5964 is a rarely imaged barred spiral emission line galaxy 76 million light years away in the constellation Serpens Caput. The galaxy has a very low surface brightness of 24.7 mag/arcsec making it somewhat of a challenge to image and process.
The galaxy is estimated to be slightly larger than our Milky Way.
Imaged in LRGB on our Planewave CDK 1000 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
Image acquisition and processing: Mike Selby
