NGC 6888 The Crescent Nebula spans 25 light years and is 5000 light years from here in Cygnus. The bubble was created by powerful stellar winds from the bright central Wolf Rayet star WR 136. The massive star is shedding its outer layers in to create the bubble that we see in this image. WR 136 will eventually end in a brilliant supernova explosion.
Imaged in SHO and RGB stars. OTA CDK 14 at SRO, California.
