NGC 5728 is a barred spiral galaxy located 145 million light years away in Libra.
The galaxy is a Seyfert Galaxy a type of galaxy with an active galactic nuclei which powers the galaxy emitting massive amounts of light in the electromagnetic spectrum which is not visible to camera’s in the visual spectrum. The nuclei itself may also be emitting light in infrared and visible spectrum but it is likely blocked by dust around the galaxy’s core. The core region is thought to have a super massive black hole surrounded by a disk of gas.
