NGC 5084

NGC 5084 is a lenticular galaxy in Virgo 98 million light years from here. The galaxy is quite large with an estimated size in excess of 200,000 light years and is one of the most massive known disk galaxies. There are 34 galaxies within 100 kilo parsecs of NGC 5084 and there is evidence that NGC 5084 has absorbed several satellite galaxies in the past.
