NGC 2736

NGC 2736 often referred to as the Pencil Nebula is a small piece of the Vela Super Nova Remnant situated 815 light years away near the Vela pulsar. In this wide field view set against a background of Hydrogen alpha gas with varying regions of nebulosity and the vela supernova remnant, the fine lines of the Pencil Nebula standout as quite an unusual structure.
Imaged in LRGB Ha and OIII on our Planewave DR 350 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
