NGC 1999 located 1500 light years from here is often referred to as the Cosmic Keyhole. It is a bright dusty reflection nebula with a large void shaped like a key hole. The nebula is lit by the variable star V380 Orionis.

Imaged in LRGB on my Planewave CDK 700 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
