The Large Magellanic Cloud is a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way and is close enough to give us a view of both individual stars and nebulae. This is a portion of the LMC that gives a sense of the loose structure and many nebulae within. The image was processed in true color RGB with some detail enhanced in the Hydrogen Alpha spectrum.
Imaged in LRGB and H alpha at El Sauce, Obstech, Chile on our RH 350 wide field telescope
Integration Time: L 12 hours, Ha 12 hours, RGB 6 hours per channel.
Image Processing: Mike Selby
