IC 4646 is a rarely imaged type Sc spiral galaxy 154 million light years from here in the constellation of Ara. It is only 1.5×2.5’ in the field of view.
The galaxy has moderately tight spiral arms with numerous star forming regions. The core region is not particularly bright and is relatively compact. There are several obvious regions of Hydrogen alpha.

Imaged in LRGB on my Planewave CDK 1000 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
