NGC 7412 is a barred spiral galaxy in Grus situated around 70 million light years from here. It has been imaged in surveys but we were not able to find any previous astrographs.
The galaxy presents nearly face on, with the arms opening on the outer portion of the galaxy. There are clear areas of new star formation.
Imaged in LRGB on our CDK 1000 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile
Image Processing: Mike Selby and Mark Hanson
