Bernes 149
Located 500 light years away in Scorpius inside the large Lupus 3 dust cloud; Bernes 149 a reflection nebula shines brightly surrounded by dark dust clouds. The reflection nebula is lit by the stars HR 5999 and HR 6000. A small amount of Hydrogen alpha is obvious within the reflection nebula.
The Lupus 3 dust cloud is home to a number of protostars and is an active star forming region.
