NGC 2196 is a rarely imaged spiral galaxy 100 million light years away in Lepus.
The galaxy is classed as a peculiar nuclei galaxy based on activity.
The Einstein Observatory recently (2022) discovered unusual x ray sources emanating from the nucleus of NGC 2196.
