NGC 1482 is galaxy seen edge on variously classified as Lenticular and Spiral and is located 83 million light years away in the constellation of Eridanus.
The galaxy is small in the apparent field of view at only 2.4 x 1.4’.
The galaxy is considered a starburst and super wind galaxy and exhibits a biconical outflow of gas resulting in a wide halo and an enveloping envelope emanating from the starburst activity.
The outflow of gases such as this is often referred to as a super wind.
At the bottom of the image is NGC 1481 a Lenticular galaxy located around 80 million light years away.
At the top of the image is PGC 839761 a spiral galaxy for which there is no red shift data available to calculate distance.
