
NGC 986 is a barred spiral galaxy 56 million light years away in the constellation of Fornax.
It is not often imaged and presents a rather small target in the field of view.
There are regions of new star formation visible in the image as well as the prominent bar and numerous dust lanes.
Imaged in LRGB on our CDK 1000 at El Sauce, Obstech, Chile.
