NGC 7293
The Helix Nebula is a very well known Planetary Nebula and a popular astrophotography target.
This image was taken on three telescopes to provide maximum detail in the central area, while still providing a large enough field of view to resolve the outer shell regions of the nebula.
Central detail was imaged on our CDK 1000, additional outer portions were imaged on our RiDK 500 and RH 350 980 mm wide field scope.
Total integration time was approximately 100 hours with imaging done in 2020 and July/August 2021
Imaged in HOO with RGB stars at El Sauce, Obstech, Chile
