NGC 7162 is a spiral galaxy situated around 125 million light years away in Grus and is the main galaxy in what is termed the NGC 7162 group. The group consists of 7 galaxies.
Shown in the image is NGC 7162 at the bottom with PGC 67818 a blue spiral top right and NGC 7166 a lenticular galaxy at the bottom left.
The galaxies are small in the field of view with NGC 7162 being around 3×1’, PGC 67818 2.5×2’ and NGC 7166 2×1’ although the extended halo covers a larger area.
