
NGC 6822
NGC 6822 is an irregular dwarf galaxy located 1.6 million light years away. The galaxy is highlighted but a number of visible H alpha nebular regions.
The center area contains a number of large very hot stars which send large quantities of matter that into the interstellar medium creating a visible glow.
It was discovered by Barnard in 1884 who at that time identified it as a nebula.
Imaged on our CDK 1000 in LRGB and H alpha at Obstech, Chile
