NGC 5161 is a spiral galaxy 128 million light years away in Centaurus.
There is obvious active star formation in the galaxy’s arms and a prominent nucleus containing older stars.
The galaxy has been very rarely imaged although it is of moderate size in the field of view at 5×2.3’.
Imaged in LRGB on our Planewave CDK 1000 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
