NGC 4527 is an intermediate spiral galaxy located around 50 million light years away in the constellation of Virgo. It is part of the M 61 group.
The galaxy shines at magnitude 11.5 but has a relatively low surface brightness of mag 23.1.
There is a very bright core, a number of Ha star forming regions and multiple dust lanes. The arms are not well articulated.
