RCW 49 NGC-3247
RCW 49 is an H II region nebulae in Carina and is located 13,700 light years away. It is a star forming region that contains more than 2,200 stars and is about 350 light years across. Although RCW 49 is recognized as among the brightest and most massive HII regions it is not imaged frequently.
