NGC 2808 is a globular cluster located about 31,300 light-years away in the constellation Carina.

It is one of the more massive globular clusters in the Milky Way, containing an estimated 1.4 million stars.

Studies suggest that NGC 2808 is around 12.5 billion years old. Notably, it hosts three distinct stellar populations, indicating a more complex formation history than most globular clusters.

Some researchers propose that it could be the remnant of a disrupted dwarf galaxy.

With an apparent size of 13.8 arcminutes, NGC 2808 is visible in medium-sized telescopes, showing a dense core surrounded by a rich field of stars.
