NGC 1249 is a barred spiral galaxy 48 million light years away in the constellation of Horologium.
The galaxy is relatively low surface brightness and has been rarely imaged.
Not a lot of research has been done on NGC 1249 except for its inclusion in HI gas studies of galaxies.
Imaged in LRGB on my Planewave CDK 1000 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
