NGC 1090 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 120 million light years away in the constellation of Cetus.
The galaxy has a pseudo inner ring and is relatively low surface brightness.
There are several hydrogen alpha regions visible in the image and heavy dust lanes throughout the central portion of the galaxy.
The galaxy is not part of any galaxy group.
