The Vela Supernova Remnant is a fascinating region. It was created by a supernova explosion around 11 to 12,000 years ago. The area has many interesting features such as NGC 2736. This image highlights the region around NGC 2659 an open star cluster nestled in the midst of galactic chaos.
Imaged in RGB with H alpha and OIII on our Planewave Delta Rho 350 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
