Fire in the Sky RCW 120
RCW 120 nebula is an expanding bubble of ionized gas, about ten light-years across. It is causing the surrounding material to collapse into dense clumps where star formation occurs.
RCW 120 was discovered in 1960 and is an H II emission nebula located 4,000 light-years from Earth.
