NGC 3372 The Carina Nebula
Spanning 300 light years the Carina Nebula is considered by many to be the King of Nebulae. Larger than the Orion Nebula, Carina is visible to the unaided eye. It lies approximately 7500 light-years from here and is an extreme active star forming region as well as having produced numerous supernovae. Lying in Carina Nebula is the variable star Eta Carinae, a huge star with a mass of over 100 times that of our sun.
The Carina Nebula provides a breath taking view of gases, stars, and dust intertwined in a colorful mix.
