
NGC 6221 is a barred spiral galaxy in Ara 70 million light years from Earth.
In the field of view the galaxy is relatively small at 3×4’ and has a very low surface brightness of only 22.54 mag/arcsec^2
The galaxy has two straight dust lanes and may be a physical pair with NGC 6215.
