IC 5273 is a barred spiral galaxy 48 million light years away in the constellation of Grus.
The galaxy is relatively small in the field of view at 2.5 x 1.7’ apparent size and has been rarely imaged in astrophotography.
IC5273 is thought to be undergoing some interaction with the IC 1459 galaxy group.
The galaxy has two relatively tightly wound arms emanating from the bar region, and multiple dust lanes through out the central region.
Several Ha regions are apparent in the image.
Imaged in LRGB on my Planewave CDK 1000 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
