IC 438 is an intermediate spiral galaxy located 163 million light years away in the constellation of Lepus.
It forms a gravitationally bound pair with the dwarf galaxy IC 2151 which is at the top right of this image.
The galaxy is small in the field of view and has been rarely imaged by amateur astrophotographers.
Imaged in LRGB on my Planewave CDK 1000 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
