IC 342 is often termed the Hidden Galaxy. It is a bright face on Spiral Galaxy only 11 million light years from here, but the galaxy sits near the equator of the Milky Way’s galactic disk, where the sky is thick with glowing cosmic gas, bright stars, and lots of dust that obscures the view.
