IC 2560 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 156 million light years away in the constellation of Antlia.
The galaxy hosts a supermassive black hole at its core as well as a megamaser which was observed by Chandra Observatory with their X ray telescope. The bright center of IC 2560 is thought to be caused by the ejection of huge amounts of super-hot gas from the region around the black hole.
A supernova in IC 2560 was observed in 2020.
