Hickson Compact Galaxy Group 88
Lying approximately 270 million light years away in Aquarius, is the relatively faint and rarely imaged Hickson Compact Group 88 which includes NGC 6976,NGC 6975, 6976 and 6977 and PGC 65612 (bottom left) ranging in magnitude from 13.9 to 15.5.
The largest of the group has an apparent FOV size of 1.2x 0.9’.
There is an obvious tidal bridge between NGC 6976 and 6977 which we were able to resolve.
Imaged in LRGB on our Planewave CDK 1000 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
