Within part of what is known as the Abell 1060 galaxy cluster; This image highlights NGC 3312 a large inclined spiral galaxy in Hydra in the center of the frame which is approximately 200 million light years away and NGC 3314 at the top left which is a pair of overlapping spiral galaxies 117 and 140 million light years away which give the illusion of colliding but are quite far from each other. Many other galaxies are seen in the field including the large elliptical galaxies NGC 3311 and NGC 3309 center right and NGC 3316 center far left.
Imaged in LRGB on our PlaneWave CDK 1000 for Luminance and CDK 700 for RGB at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
