NGC 3521 The Galaxy in a Bubble

NGC 3521 is a flocculent intermediate spiral galaxy located around 26 million light-years away from Earth in the constellation Leo. There is a trace of a bar structure, a weak inner ring, and moderate to loosely wound arm structure. Of interest are the extensive debris shells (the bubble) which stems from the long ago merger of what would have been satellite galaxies that encompassed NGC 3521.
