A main stay in Astrophotography M 27 “The Dumbbell Nebula” is a planetary nebula 1200 light years away in Vulpecula.
In a sense it is the shape of things to come. Several billion years from now when the nuclear fusion in our sun stops it is likely to produce a nebula not unlike M 27. We still have quite a wait for this to happen.
