ESO 378-1 spanning nearly 4 light years across is a little known and rarely imaged bubble type planetary nebula 2000 light years away in Hydra.
The bubble is quite symmetric as it continues to expand around a collapsing dying star shedding its gas layers.
This type of nebula lasts for a short time on a cosmic scale existing for several tens of thousands of years before its gases disperse and fade away.
Imaged in Hydrogen Alpha and Oxygen III and RGB on our Planewave CDK 700 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
