This nebula, illuminated by the young Herbig Ae/Be star IRAS 10082-5647, lies about 7,844 light-years away in the constellation Vela.

It is a reflection nebula, visible due to scattered starlight rather than emitted radiation.

The nebula has been observed in various surveys but does not have a widely recognized common name beyond its IRAS designation.

As the central star evolves, it will eventually disperse the surrounding dust, revealing more of the structure hidden within.

The Nebula has been rarely imaged with only a Hubble image of this nebula and an image by Wolfgang Promper.

Imaged in LRGB on my Planewave CDK 700 II at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.

Image acquisition and processing: Mike Selby
