NGC 1566 is a spiral galaxy located 40 million light years away in Dorado.
NGC 1566 presents a stunning face on view. The galaxy is classified as a grand design spiral.
NGC 1566 shows two prominent and arcing spiral arms that are populated by bright blue star clusters and dark cosmic dust lanes.
The graceful look of the spiral arms has caused the galaxy to be nicknamed The Spanish Dancer.

Imaged on our CDK 1000 in LRGB and H alpha at Obstech, Chile.
