The Puppis A supernova remnant is the remnant of a star that exploded around 4000 years ago.

The remnant is located around 7000 light years away and spans an area of approximately 100 light years.

The Puppis remnant is seen through the emission outliers from the Vela Super Nova remnant which is closer to us than the Puppis remnant.

The Puppis supernova remnant is continuing to expand and should remain quite a sight for future observers.

Imaged in HOO and RGB for star color on my Planewave CDK 700 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
