Abell 2731 Galaxy Cluster
Centered on NGC 25 which is listed as a barred lenticular galaxy 443 million light years away in the constellation of Phoenix.
This image is more of a deep field image containing a massive number of very distant background galaxies rather just the galaxy cluster.
NGC 25 is the brightest member of the Abell 2731 galaxy cluster. The galaxy is very large spanning 250,000 light years across. PGC 394794 is listed as a probably companion galaxy of NGC 25.
Above left of NGC 25 is NGC 28 an elliptical galaxy 455 million light years distant.
To the left of NGC 28 is the blue spiral galaxy NGC 31 at a distance of 458 million light years.
Below is PGC 128415 which appears to be either spiral or lenticular at a distance of 553 million light years.
Many of the background galaxies are over 2 billion light years away.
I have included an annotated image to label some of the more prominent galaxies.
Imaged in LRGB on my Planewave CDK 700 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
