NGC 6887 is a barred spiral galaxy (variously classified as type SBc and typ Sa (A)e) situated approximately 115 mllion light years away in the constellation of Telescopium.
The galaxy has two tightly wound arms which indicates the possible classification of SBc is not correct.
NGC 6887 has not been imaged often, I considered cropping in to highlight the galaxy, but the distant background galaxies were so interesting I decided to maintain a full frame view.
Imaged in LRGB on my Planewave CDK 1000 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
