NGC 7314 is an intermediate spiral galaxy located at a distance of 55 million light years in the constellation of Pisces Austrinus.

The galaxy contains a low mass active galactic nucleus and has a black hole the mass of which has not yet been determined.
A number of x ray studies have been carried out due to the discovery of rapid variability of several narrow emission lines in the galaxy.

It has a complex variable nucleus and is part of the Milky Way morphological twins sample of the Deep IFS View of Nuclei of Galaxies which was done in 2022.

The smaller barred spiral galaxy is NGC 7313 at a distance of 260 million light years. The galaxy is quite faint with a B magnitude of 15.
