NGC 6848 is a large spiral galaxy seen edge on situated 220 million light years away in the constellation of Telescopium.
The galaxy shines at a surface brightness of 23.6 mag/arcsec and a B-magnitude of 13.3.
There is a bright central region and prominent dust lanes are well resolved.
The galaxy is small in the field of view at 2.3 x 1.4’
Within the frame are several galaxies that stand out in the field of view.
To the right the blue spiral galaxy PGC 403268 (no radial velocity or red shift calculations are available).
Far right Elliptical PGC 3082840 at 800 million light years distance.
Lower right the Elliptical galaxy PGC 402327 at 770 million light years distance.
Lower left the spiral galaxy PGC 402197 at 740 million light years distance.
