NGC 5861 is an intermediate spiral galaxy located approximately 85 million light years away in the constellation of Libra.
The galaxy has two long spiral arms, prominent dust lanes and areas of star formation.
The galaxy was the site of two observed supernova explosions in 1971 and 2017.
