M 20 the Trifid Nebula is a very well known object in astronomy and astrophotography.
It is a star forming area located 9000 light years away in the constellation of Sagittarius.
The Nebula consists of an emission nebula, reflection nebula and dark nebula.
The name Trifid comes from the three lobes that can be seen in the nebula.
