The Vela Supernova remnant covers 8 degrees of the sky presenting an amazing range of features.
Located 815 light years away, the region is the remnants of a star that went supernova around 11,000 years ago.
This 4 panel wide field mosaic is centered on the area around the nebula Gum 12 and covers only a portion of the Vela SNR.
Imaged in LRGB and Ha on my Planewave DR 350 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
