A close up and a wide field image of SH2 308
Located 5200 light years in Canis Major (The Dolphin Nebula) is an HII region. It is a popular subject in astrophotography.

Given the 4500 mm focal length of the CDK 700 the close up image shows a fair amount of the filamentary detail which has heavy OIII content. The DR 350 captures the entire nebula with the shape leading to the nickname The Dolphin Nebula.

Imaged in HOO with RGB stars on my Planewave CDK 700 and wide field on my Planewave DR 350 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile
