IC 2118 The Witch Head Nebula is an extremely faint reflection nebula thought to contain portions of an ancient supernova remnant illuminated by the supergiant star Rigel in the constellation of Orion. The nebula is within the Eridanus Constellation, about 1000 light-years from Earth.
The nebular region covers over 3 degrees of sky and sports an impressive range of colors.
This image is a six panel mosaic covering the Witch Head Nebula and adjacent nebulae.
