IC 1954 is a rarely imaged barred spiral galaxy 48 million light years away in the constellation of Horologium. The galaxy spans 58000 light years which is around 1/2 the size of our galaxy; consequently it is quite small in the field of view.
The galaxy is somewhat similar in appearance to NGC 908 and has numerous star forming regions interspersed with well defined dust lanes.

Imaged in LRGB on my Planewave CDK 1000 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
