NGC 253 needs little introduction, often termed the Silver Coin Galaxy it is a very bright spiral galaxy in Sculptor lying 11.5 million light years from here.
NGC 253 was imaged our RiDK 500 at a focal length of 3500 to frame the galaxy, additional luminance was taken on the 1 meter CDK 1000 to boost central detail.
The 500 data was upscaled and the 1000 data downscaled to an intermediate equivalent focal length.
Imaged in LRGB and H alpha at El Sauce, Obstech, Chile
